The City of Miramar was incorporated on May 26, 1955 with a population of about two hundred people at its first stages. Miramar is considered a leader in regards to land development in South Florida and for its effective management. It is situated in the South Western area of Broward County and is considered the second biggest city in the county. The City counts with ten elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools. A community college can be found outside the City limits. There are 22 area parks and 5 community parks in the city where activities like baseball, football, soccer, handball, tennis, and many others are available.
Re-Development is at present concentrated in the eastern quarter of the City along with approximately 12,160 acres of vacant land also in the western area. The accessibility of large tracts of land, with easy entry to major transportation networks like– 1-75, the Sawgrass Expressway, the Florida Turnpike and 1-95 – offers a great chance for residential buildings and Real Estate investments, office park, manufacturing, and commercial development. International airports and seaports as well as colleges, shopping centers and beaches are located within a short driving distance of Miramar. All this together makes the City of Miramar to be a very attractive place for Real Estate expansion.
