Miami Springs City: Home For Sale in Miami Springs City

Miami Springs was founded by land developer and aeroplane designer Glen Hammond Curtiss.

He was born in New York in 1878 and became one of the most notorious ones in history over the years as the “Father of Naval Aviation”. Along with his partner James Bright, Curtiss invested one million to profit from the Curtiss Bright Ranch Company and another million for the Florida Ranch and Dairy Corporation. On his part, James Bright is recognized as the man who created the Hialeah Race Park. Curtiss and Bright worked as a perfect team and , together, developed the cities of Hialeah, Country Club Estates, today known as Miami Springs, and Opa-Locka during the explosive and legendary land boom in 1920s. When Hialeah was sold out completely, Glen Hammond Curtiss acquired land from the south area of the Miami canal across from Hialeah.  Curtiss started developing a well-planned residential community, called by then Country Club Estates. For this purpose, Curtiss took Coral Gables as a model for his Miami Springs Real Estate investment.  Miami Springs became the Town of Miami Springs in 1930 and the City of Miami Springs in 1962. Since then, its financial growth has kept very steady.

The City of Miami Springs is known for its natural waters. The pure water supplied to the whole Miami area until very recent years came from Miami Springs. This pure water was found by some engineers hired by Curtiss who was very concerned about getting healthy waters for residents and visitors. 

Miami Springs is surrounded by the Miami International Airport to the south, the Miami canal to the north, and the Florida East Coast Railway canal on the west. These boundaries notably limit extension, and facilitate 

Miami Springs preserve the small-town environment that is considered necessary and enjoyed by its residents to live in a quiet and healthy atmosphere.
