Hialeah City was incorporated in 1925. Its Indian name means “High Prairie” and reminds a portrait of the natural green used by the native Indians coming from the Everglades to dock their rustic canoes and put on show their goods for the new people of Miami. It is said that this “high prairie” was seen by aviator Glenn Curtis and James H. Bright who observed its greatest happening potential in 1921.
