Davie’s town was created by R.P. Davie who purchased 27,500 acres of land in 1906. People started arriving and in a blink of an eye fell in love with the warm weather, low-priced land and rich soil. And it is known that Davie has been home to farmers, ranchers and horses. Davie’s residents used to have one horse per each family member. For up to 40 years the “Bergeron Rodeo Grounds”, which is situated in the historical downtown district, has provided the town as the principal tourist attraction. Events included horse shows, air boat shows, circus and different kind of concert entertainers.
Residents recently said that Real Estate is booming this tranquil town and is turning uncontrollable since the land expansion started. Condo units are also in big demand. There are housing grants to promote new affordable single-family homes developments. Davie’s town looks for more housing expansion and better opportunities for renters .
